Freemasons meet in Jerusalem

The images in this article were taken in Jerusalem, Israel in Zedekiah's Cave (King Solomon's Quarries). The cave is located directly under the Temple Mount or where King Solomon's Temple would have been.

The brethren initiated a Palestinian Muslim to the Craft in a Degree conferral that had Jews, Christians, Muslims and other religions sitting side by side and enjoying each other's company. This is something which is not possible in the world outside.

This was the first Cave degree done there in about 40 years.

There were brethren from West to East attending, including the Grand Master of California, Past Grand Master of Israel, and Brethren of California visiting the Holy Land.

The ceremony really highlights the important fact that Freemasonry is for all men, regardless of faith or cultural background. A beautiful testimony to the universal appeal of Freemasonry - brotherhood of men.
